When it comes to marketing and advertising, private practices and psychologists have specific needs and I UNDERSTAND them

How did a Clinical Psychologist start designing websites?

A couple of years ago, my young daughter was diagnosed with a serious chronic auto immune disease that requires daily management. I quickly realised it was time to start seriously considering options and diversify my work instead of relying on the traditional 1:1 client business model. Despite loving my job and supporting clients, it became clear that the work wasn’t sustainable given the new demands placed upon me as a parent. It was an opportunity for change.

Oh and the PhD I’d been working on for over 4 years with a couple of published papers and a few pending – it became an ‘almost’ dream…. but

a seed was planted.

With all the life stuff going on, something had to change – I had to re-evaluate things. I had to pivot. I’d always had an interest in art. Prior to studying psychology at university, I embarked on a double degree in creative arts and media and communication. My career aspirations included journalist, art gallery curator, and interior designer. Instead, I gravitated toward psychology and went on to complete my undergraduate and post graduate studies in psychology.

Working in private practice, I designed my own website and began assisting colleagues with the creation of theirs (turns out finding a web designer with an understanding of psychology is akin to finding an accountant well versed in the like). I developed an interest and enjoyment in the organising and creative aspect of the design process and from there

… Seed Web Design grew. I’ve been watering it ever since.

  • I strive to be transparent about pricing for the website design services offered. My prices reflect the time, expertise, knowledge, and skills that goes into building and designing a website.

Prices also reflect the different aspects of the design process including the website planner pack, online website planning consultation, the actual time spent building your website, revisions and responding to feedback, and the 30 days support provided post website handover.

  • Each step of the website design process is collaborative. Throughout the process, from planning through to completion, I’ll work with you to ensure your website is exactly as you want it. I will be guided by your requirements and preferences. My attention to detail underpins my motivation for your website to be as close to perfect as possible.

  • Combining my professional experience with my knowledge, I will ensure your website is ethical and meets AHPRA marketing and advertising obligations. I understand that your website needs to be appealing, sensitive to the needs of clients, and ethical - with the result being a high quality and professional website.
